On the left is 示, the post of the altar; on the right a tall wine vessel whose belly carries bands or crossing strokes and whose foot tapers to a point, with drops of wine beneath it in some forms. 《甲骨文編》 files this set of forms under 祼, the libation in which aromatic wine is poured out to call the spirits; other scholars read the same shape as 福 (blessing), whose oracle form is likewise a wine vessel beside an altar, and only the wording of the divination separates the two. The libation reading leads at present, so the picture is graded as a probable one.
