上面那个尖头是什么，至今没有定论。有人认为是青铜勾兵，即戈，取兵器坚固之意；有人认为是玉圭，玉是祭祀的祥瑞之物；也有人读作夯土的杵。《说文》据小篆把字拆成“士”和“口”，那是汉代人的分析，未必合甲骨的形体。几说都还在争，所以标为学界有争议。形体本身是稳定的：一个尖头压在“口”上。

What the pointed top is remains open. One reading takes it for a bronze hooked weapon, a 戈, the firmness of the blade giving the sense “auspicious”; another for a jade 圭, jade being the auspicious offering; another for a rammer used in building earth walls. 說文, working from the seal form, splits the character into 士 and 口, a Han-dynasty analysis that need not fit the oracle shape. None of these clearly leads, so the badge says disputed. The shape itself is steady: a pointed piece pressed onto a 口.
