甲骨文“尊”上面是一个尖底的酒坛，也就是“酉”，下面是左右两只手，合起来是双手把酒捧起来献上。有的写法只用一只手从旁边扶住坛。后来“尊”多用来表示尊敬，捧酒的本义就交给了“樽”。

Oracle-bone 尊 puts a pointed wine jar — the graph 酉 — above two hands, one on each side: wine lifted up and offered. Some forms steady the jar with a single hand at its side. Later 尊 came to mean “to honour”, and the older sense of offering wine passed to 樽.
