On some pieces the wall gives way to a gabled shed with two pigs inside it. Ground fenced in, plus the stock kept in it: a pigsty.

这是少见的一个例子：《说文》对字形的描述和骨片完全对得上。它说“圂，廁也。从囗，象豕在囗中也。會意”——“象豕在囗中”，就是画一头猪在围墙里，正是骨片上的样子。至于为什么用“厕”来释义：旧日的猪圈常就是便所，两样合在一处，所以同一个字既指圈，也指厕。骨片上的写法还有一种，把四面的围墙换成一个人字顶的棚，棚下关两头猪——围起来是一样的，只是从墙换成了顶。

This is one of the rare cases where 說文's account of the shape matches the bone exactly. It says: “圂 is a privy; 囗 with the picture of a pig inside the 囗; a compound of meanings.” A pig drawn inside a wall is precisely what the bone cuts. As for the gloss “privy”: a pigsty in the old farmyard doubled as the latrine, the two built as one, so the single word covers both. The bones also write it another way, swapping the four walls for a gabled shed with two pigs under it — still an enclosure, only roofed instead of walled.
