甲骨文“我”最显眼的是左边那排尖齿。它画的是什么，学界并不统一：多数学者（郭沫若、徐中舒）认为是一种齿刃的长柄兵器，也有学者认为画的是锯一类的工具。两说都承认字形是“柄＋齿刃”，分歧在于用途，所以这里标为“较可能”。至于它后来当“我们”的“我”用，是借音，和图形无关。

The row of points on the left is what you notice first in oracle-bone 我. What it depicts is not settled: most scholars (Guo Moruo, Xu Zhongshu) read a long-handled weapon with a toothed blade, while others read a saw-like tool. Both accept the shape as handle plus toothed edge; they differ over its use, so the picture is graded probable. Its later use for the pronoun “I” is a loan for the sound and says nothing about the drawing.
