“刍”是一只手加两束草：长长的一笔是手臂和手指，旁边两个“屮”是拔起来的草。割下来喂牲口的草也叫“刍”，所以有“反刍”这样的词。《说文》说“刍，刈艸也，象包束艸之形”。
「芻」是一隻手加兩束草：長長的一筆是手臂和手指，旁邊兩個「屮」是拔起來的草。割下來餵牲口的草也叫「芻」，所以有「反芻」這樣的詞。《說文》說「芻，刈艸也，象包束艸之形」。
芻 is a hand plus two tufts of grass: the long stroke is the forearm and fingers, and the two 屮 beside it are the grass pulled up. The cut grass fed to animals is also 芻, which is why Chinese says 反芻 for “chewing the cud”. 說文: “芻 is to cut grass; it pictures grass bound into a bundle”.
