《说文》把这条弯线讲作“象耕屈之形”——犁走到头折回来的样子，弯里那两个小方框就是一块块田。另一种看法认为这条弯线本来画的是绳索一类的东西，它后来在“寿”字里当声符用。两说都有人持，所以字形解释标为“较可能”；这里按《说文》的耕田说来讲。
《說文》把這條彎線講作「象耕屈之形」——犁走到頭折回來的樣子，彎裡那兩個小方框就是一塊塊田。另一種看法認為這條彎線本來畫的是繩索一類的東西，它後來在「壽」字裡當聲符用。兩說都有人持，所以字形解釋標為「較可能」；這裡按《說文》的耕田說來講。
說文 reads the winding line as “the shape of the plough turning back”, and the two small boxes caught in its bends as the plots of a field. A second reading takes the same winding line as a cord or rope — the element that later carries the sound in 壽. Both readings are held, so the badge is “probable”; the app follows 說文's ploughed-field account.
