上面是“又”，一只手；手里牵着一根绞成几道结的绳子，绳子的另一端系在下面的人形头上。卜辞里“奚”指被拘管的人。《说文》按小篆说“奚，大腹也”，那是汉代人根据已经变形的字形所作的解释，和甲骨文画的并不相合。
上面是「又」，一隻手；手裡牽著一根絞成幾道結的繩子，繩子的另一端繫在下面的人形頭上。卜辭裡「奚」指被拘管的人。《說文》按小篆說「奚，大腹也」，那是漢代人根據已經變形的字形所作的解釋，和甲骨文畫的並不相合。
At the top is 又, a hand, holding a cord twisted into several turns; the other end is tied at the head of the figure below. In the divination records 奚 denotes someone held captive. The Shuowen, reading the seal form, says '奚 is a big belly' — a Han explanation of an already changed shape, and not what the oracle-bone scribes drew.
