甲骨文“女”是侧身跪坐的人形：一笔从头顶直下，再折向前方屈起的双腿；另一笔是身前交叉合抱的双臂，交叉处收成一个细长的圈，身线从圈中穿过。头顶总有一小截露在圈上。在这个圈里再加两点，就是“母”。
甲骨文「女」是側身跪坐的人形：一筆從頭頂直下，再折向前方屈起的雙腿；另一筆是身前交叉合抱的雙臂，交叉處收成一個細長的圈，身線從圈中穿過。頭頂總有一小截露在圈上。在這個圈裡再加兩點，就是「母」。
Oracle-bone 女 is a figure kneeling in profile: one stroke runs from the crown of the head straight down and then folds forward into the tucked legs; a second stroke crosses in front for the arms and closes into a narrow loop that the body stroke passes through. A short length of the head always shows above the loop. Add two marks inside that loop and the graph is 母.
