“癸”是十天干的最后一位，一旬十天到它就满了。字形是两根交叉的杆，四端分叉，可是它画的到底是什么，学界没有共识：一说是两支交叉摆放的箭或矛，一说是古人测方向、画圆的器具，也有人认为是一种能旋转飞出的兵器。几说并立，没有哪一说胜出，所以标为有争议。
「癸」是十天干的最後一位，一旬十天到它就滿了。字形是兩根交叉的桿，四端分叉，可是它畫的到底是什麼，學界沒有共識：一說是兩支交叉擺放的箭或矛，一說是古人測方向、畫圓的器具，也有人認為是一種能旋轉飛出的兵器。幾說並立，沒有哪一說勝出，所以標為有爭議。
The tenth and last heavenly stem: when the count reaches 癸 the ten-day week is full. The sign is two crossed shafts with forked ends, but what it depicts is not agreed. One reading makes it two arrows or spears laid across each other, another a device for setting directions or striking circles, a third a throwing weapon that spins. The readings stand side by side with none ahead, so the badge is orange.
