认“鼠”要看嘴边的小点，那是它啃下来的碎屑，别的动物字都没有这几点。头是一个小圈，圈里一点是眼睛，身子下面拖出细长的尾巴。《说文》说鼠是“穴虫之总名”，指所有打洞的小兽。

The crumbs beside the mouth are what identify 鼠: no other animal graph has them. The head is a small loop with a dot for the eye, and a thin tail trails from the body. 說文 calls 鼠 “the general name for burrowing creatures”.
