There is only one thing in this character, drawn three times. What the three spindles picture is read two ways: 說文 says “齊 is grain and wheat putting out their ears level on top; it is a picture” — three ears coming up together, their tips even, and from that the sense of levelness; 陳秉新 reads them instead as grains of the crop, and reference works such as 漢語多功能字庫 put that account first. On the bones the word is used mostly as a place name, and no divination uses it of a crop, so neither reading can be settled from the inscriptions and the picture is graded probable. Two arrangements occur: one above and two below in a triangle, or all three in a row. Some hands add a short length of stem under each.
