中间是正面站立的人，两臂平伸，手里各垂下一束带分叉的舞具。卜辞里常常问“舞”能不能求来雨，可见这是祭祀时跳的舞。后来这个字被借去写“无”，人们才另造“舞”字，在下面加上两只脚。

In the middle stands a person facing you, arms held out, a forked tuft hanging from each hand. Divination records often ask whether dancing will bring rain, so this is a ritual dance. The graph was later borrowed to write 無 ('none'), and a new 舞 was built by adding two feet underneath.
