甲骨文“比”是两个人形齐肩并列、朝向相同。《甲骨文编》只收了两个形体，它们和“从”非常接近，单看一个字往往分不出来，学界主要靠辞例判断：同一组人形，读“比”还是读“从”，要看它在卜辞里的用法。《说文》把它讲成“反从为比”，那是汉代人对小篆的分析。因此这里的图形解释标为“较可能”。

Oracle-bone 比 is two figures standing level and facing the same way. 《甲骨文編》 records only two forms of it, and they are so close to 从 that a single graph often cannot be told apart; scholars decide from context, reading the same pair as 比 or 从 according to how it is used in the inscription. 說文 explains it as “从 reversed”, but that is a Han-dynasty analysis of the seal form. That is why the pictorial reading here is marked as probable.
