The character explained

The third heavenly stem is a flat plate on two braced legs — plainly a stand, but what it stands under is not agreed. One reading makes it the base of a vessel or the platform of a building, another the forked tail of a fish; the Shuowen explains it through yin and yang instead, which is a Han-dynasty account and not the Shang picture. The readings are evenly matched, so the badge is orange.
