甲骨文“户”画的是一扇门——注意只有一扇：门框围成上下两格，靠门轴的那一边是一道长竖，上下都伸出框外。把两扇“户”并在一起，就成了“门”。所以分辨这两个字最快的办法是数门扇：一扇是“户”，两扇是“门”。

Oracle-bone 户 draws one door leaf — just the one: a frame closed into two panes, with the hinge side cut as a long upright that runs past the frame above and below. Set two of them side by side and you have 门. The quickest way to tell the pair apart is to count: one leaf is 户, two leaves is 门.
